I made the H&I lube die for use in a Lyman 450 awhile back. It's what I've been using on the R700 7-08. Didn't put any leading edge chamfer or bevel on it,sorta because.....
In use on the Lee 130's I don't size any further than juuuust, past the GC,leaving/shooting as cast body. Lube is applied by hand. So today, the die's "stop" was set to reflect the length of the 130....oops. Which is normal M.O. whether full length processing a bullet(and lubing) or how most of my precision bullets get treated( just sizing GC portion).
Hopefully you got that last part.
So today because of the shorter 100g "inbred" bullet, the stop wasn't reached. Still with me? In this case,I visually "stopped" when just past the GC,barely getting into the drive band that's immediately above it. And remember,NO bevel on top of sizer AND we're not trying to lube....very easy to see.
Early impression is it's better to not set the stop height. As if any of this isn't hard enough to chronicle?.... trying to describe this soft sizing is tough. The GC is already seated fully, and with extreme accuracy on the milled bullet base by the little jewelry C frame press I made awhile back..... so the lube die stop isn't needed in that respect.
