eBay is actually removing bullet mold auctions now!

I have had two lee molds posted for about three weeks and today they removed them per their gun policy. The stupid email said certain gun parts are OK but not molds??

I'm done with fleabay!!

I don't buy bullet moulds on eBay, or anything really, but I just looked and there were pages and pages of bullet moulds.

Wonder what made yours more evil than everyone elses?

Sad to hear that. This PC crap is getting old. You either follow The Party line or they cancel you. I'm about to get political so I'll stop there.

Yeah I just don't get it. It must be an algorithm and not a human because I have bought and sold many mold over the years there.

By the way Swiss Shooter . . . I'm a Kali moron! LOL. No offense taken though. Been here my whole life but looking to retire in two years as far away as I can.

SO many things like that today!

Remember how, for at least a decade, people harped about the coming "service industry" as manufacturing flooded out of the US?

There is NO service now. EVERYTHING is automated, based on "algorithms" which leaves anyone with any kind of question hanging. Tried to get a question answered by the BMV this week. Received a letter claiming all my plates are over 20 years old and I have to buy new ones. Uh, NO! All my VEHICLES are over 20 years old but the oldest plate I have is only TEN years old. NOTHING on the web site, not even a relevant category to pursue through FAQs or other automated dead-ends. Called - wait two minutes through several messages to press this or that only to get a recording saying they were too busy and hangs up. Got a PERSON at a licensing center and she indignantly parroted the crap I got online or on the phone. THINKING is not expected of people - that's left to the computers now, and whatever the computers decide is "right" is the way it is regardless of what really is. Yes, the letter was legitimately from the BMV and not a scam, but the process is executed using the same tactics as scammers.

There is a HUGE, yet unquantified net loss in efficiency for the Nation given the amount of time people run in circles trying to correct or dodge a mistake made by "algorithms" as everyone spends their time fixing the mistakes rendered by this new model of what is best for just about any entity these days, especially in the medical industry and insurance industry. Such fun that is.

Whatever falls through the wrong hole or doesn't fit in this box or that sphere is WRONG and becomes the default standard - to include who YOU ARE to these entities. NOT a CONSPIRACY, just social decomposition we're collectively allowing to happen in exchange for convenience and the illusion of "safety."

That was not a political rant, by the way - it was social commentary.

I honestly think it is an algorithm that makes bad decisions. There is way too much for it to be people making the decisions.

One of my son's has been trying for a couple years to figure out YouTube algorithms that promote videos. He has tried five different channels. His videos are awesome but can't seem to get promoted up. Then some teenager starts a channel with the same type of content and gets millions of views.

I read somewhere that even the YouTube staff can't predict what their algorithms will do. Probably the same with eBay and all the others. So complex that they can't be reliable.

Either way, I will be posting a couple molds here and sell them at non-inflated prices to my friends on this site.

Relist them and spell "mold" "MOULD," use the word "VINTAGE>," as @fiver mentioned and see what happens?

My wife makes incredible crochet'd and knitted gloves, hats, sweaters, blankets, etc. Her work is beautiful and she is just a flat-out expert at this stuff after all these years. Won the highest award at the fair for a pair of socks, using craps of yarn, competing against much larger, more complicated projects because of the skill in her execution. She lists her stuff on Etsy at pauper pricing and very seldom sells anything, yet I see werid, goofy and amateurish things sell like crazy. I keep telling her the same thing, but it's on purpose - she doesn't pay enough promotional fees to get through the right slots in their algorithms.

No, I can't prove it, but it's too obvious to miss.

I think I just figured out why they delisted them.

I used the word "bullet" in the description.

I bet their algorithm keys off that.
Especially after the Baldwin "RUST" incident.
I've seen/heard the Media reporting using all kinds of incorrect terminology for ammunition...most often they use "bullet" for live ammunition.

Nope.

"commercial bullet mold" right in the listing title.

It's simply that their "artificial intelligence" is flawed. It will get "better" over time as the computers assimilate and self-correct, refining ability as they learn from their mistakes.

Easy problem to avoid. I have never even once bought anything on ebay. I have never even once looked for anything on ebay. Problem solved. See how easy that is? :)

I bought and sold some stuff early on.

Became a hassle selling and started just buying.

Bidding on things started becoming an unproductive hassle, so I only bought "buy-it-now" items.

I gave that up too now.

I will say this: I was once victim to a non-existent "seller" and spent $30+ on a set of six wooden suit-coat hangers. Got the email they shipped and waited. No tracking number. Contacted eBay and BAM!! eBay issued a refund like RIGHT NOW and informed me that they had seen enough on this single listing to determine the "seller" was a skanky scammer and closed the account. Almost frightening how quickly and ruthlessly they descended upon and annihilated the scammer's scam.

Ebay is the worlds neighborhood garage sale. Some folks like garage sales, other would never even think about going to one. Ebay is where I go first for anything even remotely old, odd, out of production, etc. I lost the data cord for my Fuji S700 digital camera. Yeah, it's old and outdated. But I know how to use it. I can pay $21.99 plus tax at a brick and mortar or I can use Ebay and get it for $6.99 with free shipping and tax. It's on it's way. Gordy lost the key (he only had one) to his ATV. $79 something from Honda or $11-ish bucks total from Ebay. It'll be here Tuesday. Where else can I source obsolete parts for a 1966 Melroe Bobcat 444? An NOS cylinder for a long out of production chainsaw?

It has it's uses.
