My son got me two great presents for Christmas!

I got to spend a week with my daughter and her boyfriend. That was worth more than anything else I could dream of.

We did make some rough plans to visit them and head to the outer banks next late summer/early fall. Maybe some fishing?

College Boy came home for Christmas.
Because Mrs. smokeywolf's survival was still precarious at this time last year, the threat of him bringing SARS-CoV-2 home, made him coming home an impossibility.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Got the wool socks I keep asking for and a retractable power cord for the garage. Good enough for me.

Well, the best thing was having him home for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years! I really dread him leaving again, damn it this is hard on me…

I am the lucky one! Several months ago I found my dream gun on Gunbroker. After watching it for several days I told my wife about it. I must have been drooling because she could sense how interested I was. She saw the price and was not deterred. She even said she would pitch a few bucks so I could get it. It's a Rossi 92 in 480 Ruger. Haven't fired it yet, still reloading ammo for it...thanks to Glaciers.

I suggest you make sure your Poly-grip is working right. I have one of those in 44 Mag and, at about 5.5lbs, it can get pretty exciting when you touch it off!

I'm going to start with a load that is not a heart stopper. Have several boxes of Hornady factory loads in 325 and 400 grain that I bought several years ago for my Ruger SBH in 480. It wasn't all that bad in the Ruger so hoping it will be painless in the Rossi. Just can't believe the price of factory ammo and the fact that it is unobtainable. Makes me glad to be a reloader.

i had a chance at both a 454 and a 480 and regret not getting the 480.
i don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be, besides,, you don't have to try and push it beyond 1300 or so for it to be effective.

I “think” the Lee factory crimp die showed up but he hasn’t opened the package yet… I guess i’ll have to load up some rounds first and they say I can’t wait for the lfcd to show up! :)
