@CWLONGSHOT man I was thinking about ordering one of their molds this morning bc I am so impressed with this 45 acp mold and I realized you can get different cavities like that for $17/cavity so I’m definitely excited!!! Currently a 6 week wait so it’ll be a fun surprise when it arrives

I haven't bought a combo mold but awesome that this is offered and available!!

Anxious to see how they cast!!

I really like that Tom has you choose an alloy for your mold and a diameter tolerance , really let’s you play with diameter if you want to. I personally kept it simple and chose Lyman 2 and .002+ but you can definitely get interesting

I have yet to find a 10mm or 40 S&W barrel or throat to be more than a few tenths over .401", and that was just one of about 20 I have seen and slugged. The others were all .400" and a few tenths. I size at .401" and all is well in both calibers. These calibers and the 41 Magnum are all remarkably consistent and on spec from their makers.

Excellent to hear, thanks!! I’m planning on sizing to .401 and calling it a day, I expect that to be perfect. I guess I just overcompensate now when ordering molds as far as band size bc I DID get an undersized mold from one of the “ makers”

I have 2 rifle moulds from accurate, one hole GC the other PB. One is for 30/30, other for BO. They work great. You do have to chose the block size properly. Not sure I would do a pistol and rifle together though.

Interesting, thanks for the info!!! Yea, I really don’t think I’d do pistol and rifle together either, these are both .402 and even close in weight. I went with the bigger block just for extra surface area

I will probably get a rifle mold from them eventually, I’ve been casting, loading and shooting majority pistol recently ( 38 spl, 45acp, 45 colt and now 10mm are my main calibers). I do absolutely love my RCBS 30-180-FN in my model 94

Same goes for you, once I actually get the mold I’ll send ya a package with some of both bullets so you can load and mess around with em if you want

That's quite gracious of you, sir.

I have yet to use gas checks on any cast bullets for the 10mm. It wouldn't hurt anything, but it does raise costs of bullet-making. In my 40 years of doing this casting bit, I have used progressively fewer gas checks in revolver loads as time goes on. To some extent, that applies to rifle loads as well.

Interesting about the gas checks, I’d say the majority of my molds are plain based, I saw that GC bullet on Accurate and I liked the large meplat, I was fortunate to find the .379 checks I need on Buffalo Arms this morning so they’ll be here soon. My 500 piece order of 10mm FROM StarLine is out for delivery now so I’ll be set to be casting and loading this weekend and going to shoot on Sunday

Awright. I have never even seen a 40/10 gas check, and somewhere in the debris pile/reloading garret there is a partial box of Lyman 41 caliber gas checks in the gray box from whatever era used it. The 41s are a bit scarce as well.

I also ordered Pat Marlins check maker for 30 cal a couple weeks ago so that will show up at some point. That will at least cover me for a couple bullets I like for 30-30

They are actually .41 BSS gas checks with a .379 shank haha so I have no clue. The .41 checks are different with a larger diameter apparently

I’ve seen em called 40/41 checks but you just have to look at that shank size
