I took the 454 Cas. , 5" , Toklat to the range . I fired it about 20 times with a 2 X scope to minimize sighting error and help in finding out what the revolver liked.
At 25 yards ( fired off sand bags ) with 45 Colt brass and the 2 X scope, it shot a cylinder full ( 6 rds. ) into this group below, the load was 7.5 grs. of B'Eye with the H & G 245 gr. SWC,sized .4535" and lubed with
Ben's Red , with Win. Large pistol primers :
I removed the scope ( after shooting the 25 yard group you see above ) and used the metallic sights at 15 yards ( free hand ) to shoot this group with the same load:
It is still early, I've only begun to scratch the surface. There are many powders, many different sizing diameters, many different cast bullet styles to go yet.
However at this point, I can tell you this is a smooth running machine !
One last note....the cylinders and bore were very clean and free of any lead deposits after firing the revolver with the Bullseye load.
