Good Evening
I have it in a brass 4 cav 2 pb and 2 gc.
It shoots really well in every 30 cal I have used it in.
It has a lot of bearing surface and small lube groves.
Give it a shot you won't be disappointed.
In my 30-30 mod 94 I shoot it pb with 8.2 grns of unique and you can cover 5 shots with a nickle.

Thanks Wasalmonslayer. I'm debateing between the 315 clone and this mould. I like the meplat on this mould, but Ben and company are pretty convincing on the 315 clone. I've got two of the 165 RD moulds , one RG brass and one aluminum, that my .30-30 likes, but my 06 doesn't. I was thinking a heavier, longer bullet may help.

I don't have the 311-195FN, but do have the similar Saeco #307. The 307 and 315 are both excellent designs. The 305 is the slightly larger diameter version of the 307.

My SAECO #307 casts on average at .3087"
My SAECO #305 casts on average at .3133"

For some reason my notes do not include the as cast measurements for the #315. It's marked diameter is .309".

Both using CWW +2% Sn.

I am looking really hard at getting a saeco 315 also. I really have studied it a lot and it appears to be a very forgiving and efficient bullet!!

If you would like to try a few of the rcbs let me know and I will cast up a few for you.

Good luck and shoot straight!!

My own Saeco #307 drops right at .310" and the #315 is .312" on the bottom band. I've not tried to push the 315 hard, so won't comment on velocity potential with accuracy, but it definitely will produce tight groups in a variety of calibers and twists.

Quicksilver,
Nice group.

35shooter,
Thanks for the measurements.

Wasalmonslayer,
I just ordered the Noe 315 clone in Fn4 Gc. If i can't get it to shoot I'll send you the mould and Ben the bill. LOL It'll probably be around Xmas before I get to cast with it, but you are sure welcome to some to try out when I get them made. I may still get the 311195. I just like the way it looks. I'm on the list for a 360-180-wfn- rg4 so I'll have plenty of projects this winter.
Thanks again for all the help folks.

Hey Rally
That really sounds like a sweet deal. Not that I wish a bum rifle on anyone but I would love to have that mold
On a serious note I think you will really have a great shooting combo with that 315 clone.
Enjoy and please keep us updated as it progresses.
I love 30cal projects!!!

Shoot straight

Santa was here today while I was out running traps. Got the 315 clone in the mail. Can't seem to get a picture to download for some reason.

A question on the dia. that 35 Shooter posted.
Am I incorrect in assuming that only the bottom 3 bands are the only parts of the bullet that would contact the barrel? Wouldn't a bullet with more bearing surface have a better chance for accuracy?
I am also looking at my Christmas presents being the 315 and possibly the 30XCB

Kevin.....you are mistaking, all of the bullet bears on something, just to a different degree. It is a tapered design, the nose bears less than the base but is still well suuported. The taper allows it to ease into the rifling while the base is filling the grooves. One sweet design and shooter, the 315 is.

Finger lubing would work. Not one of my favorite past times but it works.

Only need to lube the lower 3 grooves. Add a light ,really light coat of Bens liquid lube and you have a tack driver.

When lubing the lower three it is no different than any other bullet.

Any more lubricant than in the lower three is over lubing.
