I just bought a 314316 NOE 115 Gr FN , GC version, 4 cavity mold.
I have several single shot 30-30's.
This cast bullet style seems to shoot well in those rifles.
Not a bad choice for the 32-20 either.
I also have a T/C .32 H&R Magnum that should shoot the bullet well.
I have a single cavity mould , but this one will increase my volume.

I have I believe the same in a 2 cavity Lyman 311 316 GC. Loading 40 this morning in the 06 for low velocity gallery loads. Working with red dot. Looking forward to a good plinker.
Could not get to work in my 30-30 levers. Kind of looking for a plain base bullet about 135 grains with a flat nose, figure it might cycle better.

Yeah the single shot rifles in 30-30 are a rare find up here. Speaking of handy rifles and affordable single shots. Not that #1's are plentiful. Going to be outside in the lower 48 on the west side of the divided this winter for about 4 maybe 5 months. Kids and grandkids in the Northwest, hopefully will have time in Eastern parts of Washington and Oregon and then the southwest to go out and bust some rocks into gravel. Have 2 Pelican rifle cases so I can take some fun stuff with me. Might find a single shot somewhere down there. Kind of wanting something I could rework into a Ed Harris bunny rifle in 32 long or prefer the 32 H&R magnum.

The 32 Bunny rifle, ( AKA as the Ed Harris rifle ) is an intriguing concept for me. That one in 32 S&W Long has a lot of appeal.
A real shame that a reputable company won't make it.
It would make a great rifle to train the grand children on.

The go fast crowd is what sells. Takes a few years, or should I say decades to realize that have the crap beat out of you at the bench or in the field isn't quite as fun as just shooting. A center fire cartridges of low report and virtually no recoil are enjoyable. Much like a 22 but with a little more authority.
The NOE mold you show would be heavy for a 32 long, just about right for a 32 H&R I'm thinking.
Fun bullet in just about anything you can stuff it in.

If I can ever stand to unload all the factory 327 mag I was wanting to use the Lyman 311 316 and a couple of others as well. That factory full house loads art not fun, but Like the gun, SP101 4" with sights. Thinking about breaking one down and weighing the charge then reducing 10% but no further as I don't know what the powder is. Or just dumping the powder and putting in a minimum load of a powder I have on the shelf.

I got VERY lucky with my Lyman #311316 two-cav mould--it casts at a few tenths over .314" in 92/6/2 and Lyman #2. If 32/20 WCF is your caliber, a "314-316" makes a whole lot more sense than does a "311316". I have yet to own or slug a single 32/20 where the throats spec at .311". .313" and .314" are far more common.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.

A beefed up Rem #4 RB would be great in that respect.

Ben, what is that scope on the #1?

That is a 30 mm Tube , 1-4 X variable.
I only used that one for 3 - 4 range sessions.
It now has a high power variable on it.
Seems to shoot tighter groups with the additional magnification ? ?

Would that higher powered variable be like the one you recommended for my #1 30-30?
