NOE smooth sided boattails?

Anybody HiTek or PC any of the NOE smooth sided boattail designs? I like the idea of a boat tail as a plinking bullet in 300 Blackout for loading on a progressive. In a perfect world a fellow could just coat them and shoot them without having to size...although that’s probably asking too much.

Given the almost universal hatred for the Lee 230 TL boattail I am reluctant to spend the money. It’s not like I don’t already have enough 30 caliber molds. But they’re on sale this weekend so if I’m going to get one then now’s the best time.

I shoot the LEE 230 as intended.
tumble lubed and low velocity in my 300.
I might,, maybe,, not,, meh, try coating it, but the rifle I shoot it in don't need any more diameter.

that NOE bullet is designed to fly like a shuttlecock.
so would be pretty limited to mostly a faster twist low velocity situation.
even at that I'd prefer some type of 'relief' [lube] groove/s.

Its been well proven by published work of several people that slick-sided monolithic bullets foul the bore at rifle velocities. At lower speeds you can get away without displacement grooves to a certain extent, but displaced lead has to go somewhere and if it can't flow into the groove areas, ask yourself where IS it going?

Paper-jacketed slicks don't shoot as well as grooved bullets at rifle speeds either, and the jackets frequently fail.
