I went and read Beartooth Bullets article mentiond earlier. His process uses an aluminum plate that covers the noses of the bullet. I believe to keep the nose from absorbing heat.
Is that how any of you have hardened the driving bands . Or do you heat soak the whole bullet as normal and just let the forward (nose) part of the bullet cool slower by air temp?
