One more reason to love our country! As imperfect as it is. At least for now things like this are not and have not happened here.
If you want a comprehensive look into the eastern front during WWII, read: Barbarossa, The Russia-German Conflict 1941-1945" by Alan Clark.
OR
Enemy at the Gates, The Battle for Stalingrad, by William Craig
It is difficult to comprehend how bad it was.
Should have saved that for Halloween!Well that was horrifying.
/\ Assuming the writer was actually there and is telling the truth.First person accounts of combat are as much a release for the writer as for educating the reader.
A good video about this.......really......”Chuck Norris vs Communism”I haven't read Clark's book but have scribbled it down on my to read list, thanks P&P. I did read Enemy at the Gates and saw the movie also, very telling. A good friend once spent some time over there on business and did a Stalingrad tour (this was before the collapse of the USSR). He said every person he met on the street who discovered he was from the United States bent his ear about how much they despised war and to tell everyone back home their story and how all the PEOPLE just wanted peace.
