I have a Redhawk in .45 Colt, actually my second one. The first one acquired maybe 15 years ago from K-Mart. They had it marked down to about $400 and I bought. If you fired any kind of higher performance load than 8gr. of Unique you had a heck of a time getting the empties out of the chamber, you could tell when you re-sized that all was not well. Brian Pearse had a sidebar to an article on the .45 Colt and said that some RedHawks in .45 Colt had bad cylinders and to contact Ruger for a new cylinder. Ruger messaged me back and said the revolver was un-repairable and offered a new one. The new one is fine, but has the 4.25 in barrel whereas my original was 5.5. Good gun to carry in the woods, usually with the 45-270 SAA.
