I picked up a inline precision base plate and mounting riser utalizing quick change plates. Then got the appropriate plate for each press I wanted to use.

Now I can swap out to any press I have a plate for with two thumb screws and about a minutes time.

Id never retire a RockChucker entirely. Altho Im using my MEC more then the Rock Chucker lately.

Not having the bar in front would be nice. Kind of wonder wht C presses fell out of favor. The general wisdon is they can get some flex, maybe true, but not under 99% or better of reloading tasks, looking at how strongly built most were (ever really look at a Herters Model 3?

One I have which needs some clean up work before I use it is a Redding Ultra Mag which has an open face, kinda wondering if the way it's designed might be the answer.

Don't remember where it came from but someone did a test of various C presses for deflection. The Lyman Spartan single stage had the least. The ram is very close to the frame to minimize the bending moment.

Interesting. I'm sure that also has its downsides, less space to work with, etc. Still, all of them were probably plenty good enough for the vast majority of loading.
