Willie's Mom lived just outside of town and he would come visit several times a year. Since he was off drugs, had a knock out wife and his own private jet, he would fly into the airport and parked at the fire station I worked at. Great down to earth guy, BS with the guys and leave us all the left over snacks from the plane trip. Then the limo would come and pick him up. He stayed over 24 hours, so I never got to see him leave.Never seen the Rolling Stones, but I did see Willie six or eight years ago, he was pretty impressive for an 80+ year old pot head. He wasn't doing back flips or anything but was on his feet moving around the stafe for a couple of hours, no breaks. Lots of energy for a dude his age.
If I made a list of the rockers I've seen ......... Well it'd be something between weird and I'd like to see an ID . I didn't see Elvis but I did see Ricky Nelson , John Sebastian, Jan and Dean, the Bellamy Brothers and Evanescence. Eclectic at best.
List of rockers I have seen live...... Hmmm.
Springsteen. Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourn, Billy Vera, Prince,Tina Turner, John Mellencamp. Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel.
Jerry Garcia unplugged. (Acoustic, not with the dead).
Ramones, Cherry Poppin Daddy's, Pink Floyd, Faster Pussycats, LaFlavour, Boston, Chaser, Cinderella, Zz Top. Oh, .....and Phil Collins if he counts as a Rocker.
Oh almost forgot Jimmie Caster Bunch.
Elvis was just before my time. Died, I believe when I was 4. Wish he had stayed around a couple more years. I would have liked to go see him.The only one of any of those that I have seen is Elvis. Many in those lists I haven't even heard of.
We ran around with a woman who worked for Preston Ticket Agency in Dallas, Texas.i was fine with seeing him go.
i'm not even gonna try a short list of all the groups and single artists i've seen.
I had a thing going where i seen stuff like Def Leppard 3 nights in a row and made like 25$ each night.. that Gig run for a decade.
