Depends on how bad I want to shoot. I shoot at the house mostly now, so can get in from it often. I am much better at deaking with cold than I used to be, but I will always prefer to sweat rather than shiver, I hate to be cold and hate having to dress to keep from being cold. That ssid, I'd shoot more in Winter than I do if there was more daylight. Days are so short it basically means only shoot on weekends when I'm not busy.

My problem is more a matter of very short days. This time of year you have less than 4 hours of daylight. The sun at the peak is low on the horizon, and if you have an overcast day forget it. If it’s about zero or higher I’ll do some shooting if the light conditions describe above allow it. My shooting shed is heated and has good lighting so it’s comfortable. Got a decent spotting scope so just put up half dozen targets so you don’t have to leave the warm to often.

I used to shoot a lot in the cold . Sunrise over a decoy spread all the way through to late January 3 days a week often down -5 to +5 . I can verify that Blue Dot drops off in the cold and Steel only holds on about another 10-15° . So I was very sad to see 4756 go away . I haven't done any since the move .

Its been an average of 60 degrees here during the day this year. Very unseasonably warm.. Next week we are going to be in the single digits at night and 20s during the day. You can bet that I'll be out in it duck hunting mornings and blasting off at the target board in the afternoons.

Cold doesnt bother me. I dont care for high winds though

I often shoot at below zero temps. That is the temps I winter trap in, that is the temps I expect my ammo to work in. Somewhere on here I posted about shooting at -17 a couple years ago. It’s been a warm winter here this year, really poor ice formation, hope to be on the ice shortly. I’m not crazy about any temp over 65!
