My 686 wears Hogue fingergroove Goncalo Alves grips, it's an early square butt that my friends have been lusting after for ages. Switching over to my Redhawk, I have to use the factory "splinter" grips, they're the only grips that fit my hand on that frame, and I've tried everything. Seriously. I may call Herretts and discuss custom options with them. Part of the issue is that 7-1/2 inch Redhawks balance poorly for me because of the long barrel. I don't want to go to a different one because it's one of the first Redhawks built and has a 3 digit S/N.
