I have a Mk III 22/45, I think that's right. Only brand new steekin' peestol I've ever purchased. It's also a pretty good shooter, not quite up there with the Hi Standard Supermatic, but it's not too far behind. Great gun to train new shooters with...if you can find ammo!

Ammo is available...........just at a inflated price. I'm still trying to make a dent in a 20mm mortar can full of bricks.

Years of accumulating bricks of promotional ammo at $8.90 a brick. Had that ammo can, behind the furnace, in my Michigan basement. Didn't realize I had that much till I moved to Arkansas. Couldn't even lift it.

Oh, to have problems like that!

I used to buy 22's by the brick too, but the boys shot it up as fast as I got it! Oddly enough, my father complained of the same problem... ;)

I have yet to own a MK III. But I have had a few MKII and one MKI.

I also have a 22/45 & 22/45 LITE that my wife and I like allot. She started with the 22/45 when it cane to be cause the MKII was too heavy. She used it as a bullseye gun for a few years until a High Standard Supermatic was found. Then when she discovered how much fun steel plates was... She took the 22/45 back out and wanted to dress it up. We ran across a LITE and she bought that and decked it out with extras. Its been a great gun.

Being a Bullseye shooter for almost forty years, we have had and shot most appropriate pistols. From Berettas to Walthers to Hemerillis or Benelli's and many different High Standards, Colts & of coarse Brownings and Rugers...

I also love my s&w m41... got it for a steal, and it's a shooter with both the short and long barrel... compared to the ruger, she's a bit finicky on ammo, and being kept clean. Got her for bullseye... will see how she does this summer.

Hi Standard Supermatic. Had one of those a long time ago traded it and a reverb delay recorder for a Gibson. Talked to him 10 yrs age, still has it. I never shot it after getting slide bite.

Got a used Mark l STD 6" in TX, back in '74. Outshot My Dad's Colt Woodsman Target 6".
Like a fool I sold off that fantastic shooting pistol to upgrade to a New MK ll Target - 6 7/8". That New MK ll shot just as well as the old MK l.
Still wish I had both.
Back in My youth I could but a box of Rem Target .22's into an inch at 25yrds, maybe a flyer or 2 would open that group to 1 1/4".
Can still hit a V8 can at 50ft 8 outa 10 shots. Still using a Bullseye stance too.
As far as putting one back together, it's just a flick of the wrist.
