Very nice !! That rifle (especially with the Refield) will be a fine companion for many good years to come.
Our Savage 23 is a 32-20 and never has failed to be a fine rifle for woods / river bottoms loafing.

Awesome!! That is even rarer!
Yes it’s a nice one. I have a 99 30-30 rifle that needed one as well. I ran across one at Cliff’s in Boise 2 years ago but for reasons that I can’t remember I didn’t pick it up.
Well Don (obssd1958) in Boise was kind enough to run by Cliff’s pick up the sight and mail it to me. It’s quite a nice sight, but does absolutely nothing for the slim flowing lines of a 99 Savage. Kinda like a big old growth of some kind.

But a nice addition to this old 99!
Back to the Savage 23, I happen to have a Remington Model 25 in 25-20 I would be willing to trade for. Savage 23B in 25-20.
One shooter grade for another shooter grade. I really liking the little bolt gun.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
That appears to be a later model with the newer style mag. Don't lose those suckers! Expensive little beasties! Nice rifle!

Yeah all three mags are marked differently, but appear the correct. Surprisingly Numrich has them in stock for about $45. That was a unexpected.

the far right is marked 23D - 22 Hornet and has the most blue wear. The middle mag is just marked for caliber and markings are 180*, or turned the other way. Left mag has no markings.

The older rifles used a more rounded on the sides mag and the outside was all one piece. The 2 styles are not interchangeable at all. The proper mag for the early 22 LR M23-a is a real booger to find a replacement for.
