Decided to wear this ring . Dad's Mom bought it for his Dad to serve as his wedding band . It's only a 10 I'll have to get it sized up to at least a 13-1/2 .

Picked up 20' of gutter for the south end of thet mew house . I'll probably put that up one evening next week.

Kids broke a front window having a temper fit . We'd planned on replacing that 4×9' 9 panel single pane delight anyway.... I just didn't plan it right now .

Better get your Dr to switch you to Humalog. Novo Nordisk will not be selling insulin in North American market, I was taking Levemir and Novolog and got switched to Lantis and Humalog.

My insulin cost went down to $35 under the current, not previous administration.

Well I am already taking Lantis. It costs me $47 a month now.
Humalog is not available locally, but I think I can mail order the old school viles for 70 something, for a 3 months supply.
Still have a lot of figuring out to do. Nothing I get matches the web sights. Because we don't have a local pharmacy on Blue Crosses preferred network. So always an extra fee.

We were away for the weekend. Sue had a stained glass class and we stayed at her brother's home. Her brother's wife is an excellent cook and we were treated to many fine dishes and her brother did a brisket.
Then this morningIMG_5904.jpegIMG_5905.jpeg we stopped at a friend's prairie nursery and dug up a lot of Little Blue Stem, some Purple Love Grass, and Prairie Ragwort. Then we drove the 200 miles home in the rain. Got home and started cutting up the Blue Stem clumps with a machete, digging holes and planting. Then we went out to the .22 range and dug up several clumps of pussy toes.
By 6pm it was time for Sunday Pizza and a Hamm's. I am genuinely pooped and my lower back is annoyed. Ibuprofen and Henry McKenna to the rescue.

Besides the pharmacy. Went to church tonight. Then came home and Just now finished the grass. Just mowed that stuff 6 days ago. Guess I started something.
It's growing like weeds!
Well it is weeds and Rye hay I guess.:headscratch:

The muggy soup and south wind from hell finally turned to thunderstorms last night, dumped a desperately needed inch of rain and cleared off to a beautiful late spring day. I got up with the kids and did breakfast, olayed ball and a zillion other things outside with the kids, then out to the shop to finish filing and sanding the steel on a CVA 1858 Remington, busted and ground some black powder pucks and put the classified 3F in a polishing drum, then spent the middle of the day hot-water bluing the Remington. Tried out the polished powder to great success and went to town after a pizza order. After supper I cleaned the test rifle and pressed all the BP dust from two batches into half a pound of fresh pucks and put those up to dry. Had an hour of daylight to spare so I hoed thistles until dark and went inside to pack up a bullet mould and do the Sunday house chores. Shower and bed, boy could I use a Scotch right about now, but damned allergy thing.

IMG_3692.jpegIMG_3693.jpegIMG_3691.jpeggood lord.
i don't think any of my reels even hold 200 foot of line.
Salt water generally means deeper fishing and larger fish.

I recently picked up a new fishing rod. Its made by a hobbiest with best available components. The blank was made by Shimano and is featured in there "flagship" (there terminology) rods. Its 7' and heavy action. Its quite stiff but still slender and light weight. Anyhow, I wanted a "better" reel for it. I choose Penn's Spinnfisher VI largely for cost as they just released the VII and retailers are offering the VI for about 1/3-1/2 from orig retail. AND as Im learning the 7 "isn't all that" and people are not satisfied and tge last of the "6" are seeing unprecedented sales... Anyhow I say all that (yes I'm boastin' and proud of this setup. ;) ) Because I choose a 6500 size. Now as these get bigger (many manufacturers do too) the "gear case" doesn't get bigger. So this is the second "size" on this case. Meaning tgey make the 5500, 6500, 7500 and 8500 reels on same gear case. The change is the "head" where the spool is and attaches. So line capacity. Im not knowing all but the 5500 is about 300/12lb 6500 is 390/12lb and 7500 is about 435/12lb, and so on.
I have switched to braid some 10-12 years back. If ya are not fermilular, it is thinner stronger and zero memory as mono has in spades. BUT its costly at up ta 20¢ a yard.
Most run a backer so only spool 1-200 yards of the better costlier line.

I wear my wife's wedding band on a chain around my neck.
I cannot come close ta fitting my #12.5's. :) I did consider (quickly) about sizing up. But after making some pendants for the two ladies that helped me with her care. (Shocked at costs of precious metals) I decided that around me neck is closer to me heart anyhow...

Yours a far bigger ring. Id probably want to do exactly same.

I'm ok with a drink or two.
Beyond 2 drinks in 24 hrs.
I am playing with fire. My health issues- meds will not allow it.
I do enjoy an occasional drink or two. Maybe a couple times a month. It allows me a solid night's sleep. Some reason resets my sugars when they have been bouncy.
But right now I just can't afford anything I would enjoy. And to be quiet honest. Iced Tea with lemon and no sugar has been my drug of choice lately.
Anyhow need to make some slats out of plywood to put my new plastic Rhino car ramps on. That my boy gave me. So I can work on gravel. Safer.
Plastic ramps need to be on a flat surface. Using in gravel or uneven has caused them to crack for others. The tag on them says use on flat level surface only.
So doing that today.

Got a Lee 6 cavity 358-158 gifted to me today. So may get to casting tonight. This may end up being my new bullet for my .357 lever.

And a day early, besides. Enjoy!

The mould I bought from Brad arrived today, too, and appears to be either unused or very well taken care of.

Yup, only thing that runs mono are spinning reels. Braid just doesn't work for them.
It can work. But you kind of have to deal with a differently as a matter of fact, most new reels today are built for braid and the biggest change that they have is that the Bill does not snap over automatically. Forcing you not to add the extra spin in your line, causing those wind knots crazy tangles that can occur from twisted braid. I've tried my best not to do that over the years and gradually I'm learning not to allow the real to automatically drop the bail but when I'm casting furiously at a school of breaking fish, let's say it's easy to forget and that's when it really jumps up and grabs you by the short hairs.

Not all of my spinners have braid, but all my saltwater spinners have braid another super reason for braid is it ultra thin diameter meaning you can go with a little bit heavier line yet have the diameter of the smaller line for instance, although I haven't used it in five years because of my knee, my ultralight wears 6 pound braid. It's thinner than 2 pound mono, stronger than 8 pound mono... so it has many, many advantages.

Well, I popped my bottom metal out this morning without a hitch. I had really good fill out although not 100% as I hoped. But it's fixable without a problem. I cleaned everything up scuffed up the inside a little bit more. And jump right back in. I am now betting the action into the stock. Fingers are crossed 24 hours will find out if I've made it permanent.

CW that clears up me seeing the Pro's flip their bails shut when using a spinning reel.
i can always tell when they are using braid when they have a fish on, the sound of it coming through the guides is distinctive.

gonna give onion sets another go,we put in a hundred of them today.
i've tried them before with minimal success, but for 3 bucks a hundred guess i'll give them a shot.

Fiver,
Onion sets should be easy.....they tolerate cold ! One thing they need is a very rich composty soil with added manure

Been fighting this affliction I have for weeks I think it is sciatica but now I'm getting worried.....muscles in my thighs are tightening up and cause me much pain from my lower back down my legs with pain that cause me to scream out a number of times a day. Heat compresses and massage machine seems to help me get 1 hour on my feet working but then I have to go back to the massage & heat routine for about 20 minutes to 1/2 hour to be able to do work again.
Was able to cut the 6 year old rogue 20 foot Tulip Poplar that was in on of my gardens and the surrounding branches of the Catalpa and white mulberry trees to get some sun back into that garden! Today I was able to cut all those branches and limbs up to Make the easier to carry in my garden tractor cart. Got the old Troybuit Horse gassed up and put the battery in a started it Lucky, I had only one spray left of starting fluid left in the can and it was enough to get it started. Always need starting fluid to get it to wake up after it's winter sleep! It will start now with no problem unless it sits for a month unused which is seldom in the summer!
Tomorrow After moving all those branches along with the fallen winter branch litter..... I'm going to try to cut the grass in my immediate back yard because it is huge!
Son has been too busy taking care of our grand daughter to worry about mowing the properties!
