Mostly jacketed stuff but one of my cast is included.
I sent my buddy some 30 cal bullets and instructions for velocity wants. All where 30/30 or 300 blk velocities. I think he used his H&R 300 DR caliber
He loaded them up and shot them for accuracy @ 50 yards then into the bullet box at same distance.
The bullets I was wanting to see where the
Sierra 125 HP and 135 Varmint.
Speer 130 Hot Core
My NOE 310-173 with LG HP pins weighing 165 ish in 20:1 alloy.
We have been testing this cast before and learning allot!! Its a large HP and even at sub sonic velocities it sheds its pedals. But wet news print is tough stuff likely tougher then a animal ya might shoot.
The NOE bullet; Impact was about 1000 fps with 5g Tin Star powder

As expected it shed its pedals but stopped at the base of the HP penetration was moderate 6-7"
Here is the Varminter from Sierra in 135g. Its pretty fragile even in the BO under 2000. Impact vel was +1850fps.

Altho violent expansion these penetrated the deepest!! Almost exiting the box! (12")
This one has always been considered slightly tough for the BO velocity. (2000 max) Impact was approx 1850fps.

You can see very nice expansion but not a large diameter. Depth was about 9/10".
Here is the Sierra 125 HP made for varmints in the 30/30.

SUPER expansion and holding together!! About 2100 impact velocity. The Penetration was 2.5-3"!!! This bullet failed on me on a 160 ish yard 180# buck. The bullet failed to penetrate the shoulder/leg bone and skidded under the hide exiting front shoulder re entering the neck severing the Carotid artery. So animal perished quickly even without Thoracic cavity penetration!
I hope ya find rhis as informative as I do.
