My TIKKA just loves the SAECO # 301
( Misprint on the primers...they are WOLF Primers.)

I glass bed all my rifles, I'm almost afraid to touch this TIKKA ? ? ?

Sorry for the poor quality photos, I took them with my cell phone.

If you're lucky and can find a SAECO # 301 with a .301 nose and .311 drive bands , you should be " good to go. "

Ask this 8 point what happens when one of these HP's is placed in the " boiler room " ? ?

Can you see why I keep about 300 or so of these lubed, sized, and gas checked, ready to load ?

Sept. 10, 2021 Steve left us. You are missed.
It would be hard to improve on that Ben. Is this a Saeco mould or Saeco design?

I love a guy who appreciates 2400 with cast in a rifle.
That load looks like it shoots well and a dead deer is a good deer.

Well done Ben.

I shoot that same bullet in a very good 03A3 for military bolt matches, among other things. My mould is an original SAECO 4-banger that all cavities are as close to one another as anyone could hope for. VERY accurate!

You're very fortunate to have a mould like that !

16 grains of 2400 in a 30-06 and 12 grains of Unique in 45-70. Those two have almost never been known to fail.

Ben,
Does that bullet whistle?
I had a buddy in the Army I shot alot with. We both had Browning Hi Powers in 9mm at the time. His gave him alot of trouble feeding until he found a conical 115 grain mould, I believe it was an RCBS. His dad, a retired shrink, made him a jig to HP his bullets. We used to hunt alot of cottontails with our Hi powers. His Hp's would emit an audible whistle, which I could often hear while we were making drives for rabbits. He never could hear it and said I was just messing with him. I told him that was why he didn't get many rabbits, they could hear the bullet coming. LOL

Years ago, I loaded some 270 Herter hollow points (believe they were 130 gr), and they whistled, Had to be off to the side of the shooter to hear it however.

Ben's results with the Saeco 301 led me to have one PB'd. I had already been shooting it from a couple of '06s and a K31 with excellent results. 29gr AA5744 shot very well(GC'd), but kicked like a mule. 8-12gr Herco shot tiny groups at 50 yards, but I didn't try other powders or heavier charges.

I saw a 4# jug of Herco, and 8# of Universal, Red Dot, 700x, 800x and more on Saturday. I bought a jug of Unique a couple of weeks back.
