Looks really nice. What are you planning to use it for?

I'm not real happy with those chatter marks, second time I've seen that on one of his moulds (Tomme I think it was had an aluminum or brass one like that recently). I'm starting to wonder if the ways on his CNC lathe cross slide aren't getting worn out from making zillions of small movements in one, small area of travel.

That said, I have two of his iron moulds and they are, bar none, the best moulds I own.

Ian. I see what you are talking about. They are very light and show up worse in the pic than in person. I hope to cast with it soon and I'll see what the finished product looks like.

@Ian - I can list dozens of causes of chatter and tool marks. Worn ways is certainly on that list. I would first look at the tool sharpness and positioning. Then I would check to see if the ways needed more lubrication - dry ways can cause stick-slip behavior which is worse with worn ways.

My guess is this mold will cast beautiful bullets. My handgun skills are limited and i'm sure any problem with the loads will be operator error.

Sounds like me!
Planning to PC those suckers? I see some a Titegroup working well for mild, and Unique or 2400 handling the rest.

Wasn't me Ian. But I remember someone having the same chatter marks. It was a aluminum mold if I remember right.

Like I said. The camera makes the marks look a lot worse than they really are. I’ll cast with it and see how things look.
