Charles--your description of corporations and their elements is one of best summaries I have read on the matter. Thank you.

I have no idea why ANYONE would want a pet hippo. Drug dealers do weird stuff, and buy strange things. The rapid rise from abject poverty to decadent wealth might make people get a bit nutty.

Like I said Charles, a better man than I. I figure if the Good Lord has a plan for them and I'm supposed to be involved, He'll shove me into their path. But I'm not volunteering anymore! ;)

There used to be a small group of, shall we say, "women of questionable virtue" that would chase after any new Trooper we got at the barracks. Single, divorced, married, didn't matter. They'd chase those guys like a Beagle on a hot rabbit track. They'd show up around shift change dressed nicely, if somewhat "hookerish". Some of the more naive guys would start getting interested, but a weird thing always seemed to happen- invariably the guy being chased would get a Wednesday night loud party call (those were always the best) and there would be the "Beagle" with puke running down the front of her, often with signs of multiple romantic partners, shall we say, also in evidence and often some drugs nearby. It worked like that every time, really odd.

Well, well, the thread has drifted into the subject of "lewd women", which is not an area of my expertise. I will leave it to the more experienced among us to expound and propound on the subject at hand. Gentlemen, you have the floor.

Charles, my experience with the "lewd women" spoken of above is merely professional, not personal. I suspect that others' references to them are in a similar vein. Law enforcement can be a front row seat to the fall of civilization--working vice/narcotics is a backstage pass with a ticket into the after-party.

That was my assumption. I was just trying to be light and clever. That said, every lewd woman is somebody's daughter, sister or mother. My work has brought me into contact with "fallen people" of all kinds. Many of the prim, proper pillar of the community types also hold very dark secrets. My calling was to redeem as many of those folks who can be redeemed. There comes a time, when some have fallen so far, they can't be brought back, but still I gave it my best effort.

Just because they're "of questionable vitue" doesn't necessarily make them really "bad" people. Best CI's I ever had were in the group. We all serve a purpose I suppose. Besides, I have a lot of relatives that fall into that category!

A class mate , that ended up marrying a Southern Baptist minister , Mother was the Madam at a local brothel . Salt Wells isn't as well known as the Mustang Ranch or the Bunny Ranch but it is/was its own marker on every Nevada map .

Oddly enough one of the ministers daughter's came back to the 10 yr reunion in a 580 SL Mercedes claiming to be a $1000/night escort in the rotten apple .

I occasionally question folks choices for money making on a personal level but then I'm reminded by my conscience that A I'm party to a less than perfect past , and B someone has to be a defense lawyer for the folks out there that make the worst choices and least virtuous jobs held look like the Herald angle gig .
