You guys have influenced me to give ladle casting a try. I can see 2 options
1 I buy a dedicated ladleing pot using a PID which I have. Option 2 use either a cast iron 15 lb. pot or a sauce pan that easily holds 40+. Both pots would be heated by a open heating coil hot plate usually used in heating molds and pre-heat lead. And use my PID.
Would option #1 hold the heat better than option #2?
If I opted for option 2 I would insulate and make a metal skirt to hold heat.
