Which mold?

Thinking about buying myself a present. I want to go faster than usual speeds with a boolit in .30 caliber rifles. Above 2000 fps. Yeah I know. It would also be nice if the same boolit would work for hunting deer, hogs, etc. I read about a "315" design. Is that what I am looking for?

Suggestions appreciated.

Just saw one on EBAY that is a Saeco 315 clone by NOE. I think it's a 5 cavity GC for $120.00. At least something ti look at as NOE web shows no GC model in stock.

The Saeco #315 or the NOE clone is a fine bullet for what you are looking to do. I have a Saeco double cavity and an NOE 5 cavity PB. The dimensions of the bullets from each mold are more or less identical and are identically accurate below 1600 fps. I have both because the plain base is accurate in everything I’ve tried it in below 1600 fps. I like the fact that it’s tapered and has plenty of grease grooves to adjust for best accuracy. I’ve only filled one or two for best accuracy. It’s a design that seems to like like a softer alloy too. To save money the best option would be an NOE 4 cavity with two PB and two gas checked cavities. This allows you to save on gas checks for low velocity loads and gas checked for your 2000 fps + loads.

Excellent choice!
I think you’ll be happy with your #315- clone. I have the NOE- version myself, a mould that drops 2PB/2GC. It shoots well in all rifles I’ve tried it in. It also has a pretty good meplat.
