WTB microwax BW 430

Wanting to make some lube experiments. Anyone have 2# of microwax to sell? I would particularly like BW 430 if possible only because it is listed as an ingredient in several lubes.

Tell me what you've got and how much you need for it.

Check with randy rat at the CB forum. A while back he was considering stocking several micro wax blends for resale in quantities less than 10 pounds.

I've been in close contact with randyrat, about selling micro wax, as he has asked my opinions since I have posted a lot about that subject, even though I really don't know much at all, and I told him so. As he has time, he has been researching this, and his target goal is to find some higher melt temp micro-wax for about the same price as his beeswax. Our last conversation ended with the fact that he hasn't settled on which one or two waxes he wants to offer.

With that said, I've seen Chris' request the day he posted, and hesitated mentioning the following, but since this has turned into a conversation, I guess I will. A friend and bullet caster local to me has bought some Micro-wax about a year ago, after I posted about SL68B. I don't recall which microwax he bought (maybe he bought two types?), but it was surely 10 lbs or more. He and I are in the midst of a deal of some swaging stuff, and the next time I hear from him, or see him, I was gonna ask if he wanted to sell a couple lbs. The reason I chose not to mention this earlier, is I figure Chris is wanting some wax sooner than later...before the cold weather subsides, and my friend & I are slow to finalize deals and working out a FTF meetup...last we talked, it would surely be after the holidays.

While not applicable to the original request, my two cents is get a slab of BW-430 and 431 both (the shipping is high and the wax is cheap), and sell what you don't use here. Lots of people are in your position and don't want a full ten pounds plus having to pay nearly as much in freight as the wax costs, so you can recoup your costs per pound easily by selling small amounts.

When you start compounding recipes, 10 lbs of wax isn't as much as you think.

JonB, I wouldn't order wax until after Christmas by a few days, going away. Hey, if your deal happens that would be great. Please keep me in mind. We get our worst cold in Jan/Feb.

Ian and other lube maestros: if I were going to get started with one microwax, which should it be if I order some? I get the point about selling a bit here and there to recoup costs and possibly be a service to others.

430 is fine for your purposes. 431 can be more or less made into 430 with a tiny bit of Vaseline, but you can't make 431 out of 430.
