A slotting tool would have been better but an old ground down boring bar worked ok.Great, another reason I need a mill.

Just a cheap HF Mill only good for +-.005 at bestCan I ask what brand/model mill you have? I'm about to go down that rabbit hole myself.

IndeedIt's always good to have options. Sometimes stuff is discontinued, or isn't made quite to the specification you would prefer, on it's on intergalactic backorder, and you want it now. So you make it.
