Thanks Maven. My complaint is that looking at it on my phone I can't see all the right side columns. And can't move the image sideways to view the right side columns.
Man, am I getting old. Not only have I not heard of some of those powders, I've never even heard of some of the makers! I'm "SITE", Stuck In The Eighties. I remember when ANY Norma powder was exotic. Life has passed me by!
I guess I'm stuck in the past as well, but I think having such a chart at hand is a good way to see how the new propellants stack up against the old. E.g., I picked up a few pounds of Lil Gun last year at a good price and thanks to Hand Loader have a much clearer idea of its relative burning rate and use.
I stopped subscribing to Handloader a good 10-12 years back when the editor threw one of his hissy fits and got me totally PO'd. I might buy 1 copy every 2-3 years if I see it in a rack and there's a particularly interesting article in it. But yeah, I saw the trend in promoting only what was new and fancy many years back. Making the advertisers happy is what keeps a mag going.
they done that to string the readers along into chasing the next 1/2" group in their new rifle they read about last month.
that chart seems a little off to me on some of the powders positions when looked at from left to right, but is spot on as far as each company's relative rate.
I have a much older version of this chart and it's shifted a little closer to what I have seen on the bench.
I don't know how new that chart is, for instance it doesn't list Vihtavuori N32C, been around for a while and popular with CAS shooters amongst others.
