.25-06 powder coated plain base woes

Bullet was the NOE 260-118RF plain base. Load was 12g of 2400. Primer ww large rifle for std or mag.
Bullets were powder coated with Smokes traffic purple and Smokes black. (separate batches).
Bullets were sized to .2585 at the last driving band in a push thru custom Lee type sizer. This is the same sizer that I used on my RCBS 25-120 gas checked bullets that shoot very well with the same 12g 2400 load and does not lead the bbl.
Both purple and black bullets leaded the bbl quite severely.
Is it the design of this bullet that has smaller than 260 diameter from base to nose on each driving band?
I have never experienced leading with powder coated bullets before this.
Any comments would be appreciated.

I'm no help here I'm working the 260-120 @ 125gr both PB and checked. I keep running out of lube .....

The NOE 260-120fp my lube isn't really up to the 24" barrel . It's a common issue for me it'll keep the 20" and under running great . I'm mopping the barrel this go around hoping that it's more a matter of getting the whole barrel "wet" than having to break down and have some simple fix like buying/making a lube specific to my efforts .

You need to be a half thousandth over the groove at least with PBPC. Gas checks spring back and are great barrel scrapers, that may be why you didn't see any issues before.

It's marked 260-120 FN but it's probably the 122.KIMG0582.JPG
