Began casting today with the Lee 45-230-TC but decided I run another mould on loan, NOE 38-180-WFN. This is a 5 cavity mould but since my hot was already hot I decided not to change to the single pour orifice. Note it can be a challenge pouring odd number cavities with a double pour plate. [just saying]

At some point I broke out my 4 cavity NOE 312-148-RN & made a few. These were all cast from unknown range scrap which tests about 12 BHN air cooled.

And it is a good one. I kept the Lyman '440 for gas-check bullets, but bought an NOE for the plain base. They are the go to bullets for the Browning Model 53 in 32/20.

Those 38-180-wfn's look really really good, Creeker.

Haven't shot any of the 38 bullets yet. Plan to put them through a Blackhawk of mine.

Creeker, if you ever get a chance I would like to see the double spout set up. Not that I need one, but sounds neat for sure.
Oh those are some good looking slugs for sure!

Yes, I've shot the NOE version.
Shot fairly well for me.

Before selling the Lyman mould I cast a supply of bullets & finally have shot through them. The NOE version I've not shot much, maybe a couple hundred in two rifles, the Handi Rifle & my old 94 Winchester. I've shot them with & without checks & while I still have work to do so far I'm happy.

Jeff my pot is the Magma Master Pot. These come with a changeable orifice plate. One plate has a single hole while another has two holes spaced the same as the spacing of a double cavity mould. I use the double for all my casting except when using a single cavity mould. If you watch the very end of this video you can see the double pour.

Good lookin' bullets, Creeker

I love that NOE 180gr, it is my favortie .357 bullet...displaced the .358429 as the favorite. Matter of fact, the NOE WFN bullets have totally replaced all of my swc's...I have even sold most of those molds, now. That 5c NOE will drop a bunch of purdy bullets in a short amount of time.

My CVA Scout 14" pistol pushes that bullet out at over 1600fps, shoots it like a laser and hits with authority.

Purdy bullets. I had been eyeballing that Noe 360-180 mold for a long time. Al set the hook with his 20% off sale so I ordered an RG2. Don't have any interest in the HP but I did cast a few cup points and then some flat points. The cup points seem to drop out easier than the flatpoints, they seem to just roll off the pins without the pins moving. The bullets drop larger than I was hoping for at .363, was looking for .360-.361 but it is what it is.

Lynne those bullets look pretty good. The ones I cast dropped at .362. I expect a lot of good shooting from them. It's all Ben's fault, you know:)

I gotta go look.
that 35 cal with a gas check would be just about perfect in a 357 maximum.
it should even do pretty well without it on top of some 2400/H-110 in the revolver.

I shoot the 360-180WFN in my .357 rifle, it weighs right at 187grs checked and lubed. Very accurate and at around 1650fps has quite a punch. I sent my plain base 2C version to Erik for a hollow point conversion and it makes a dandy varmint eliminator.

Haven't measured or weighed any as of yet. And yes Ben has corrupted many.
