Awhile back, I loaded some 311299's over 32gr. of Varget. It got unseasonably warm today (up to 71 degrees) and by the time I left the range, it was filling up fast. Any how, I only shot two 5 shot groups at 100 with this load, but was pleased with results. First group was 1.5, with four right at an inch, and the one out was me. The second group was a bit better running about 1.3". Need to spend some more time with this load. BR, BLL, .310.

Paul that's pretty good accuracy for the velocity you are pushing them at....my best accuracy with them is attained at 29 grs of 2520,4895 ,4064 and Varget in the 30-06..

If was to use those powders in the .308 I would drop the charges by about 5%....

But I only punch holes in paper...Dan

Nice Shooting Paul! I never used Varget but I know most of the Bench rest shooters up here use it exclusively. Once the weather gets warmer I'm going to start moving my targets out to the 100 yd backers. Right now just trying to walk 50 yards on the 1 foot of snow with inch thick ice crust is near impossible

I think you will be sending your weather to me this weekend should get up into the 60's by Monday!
Pretty soon it will be seed starting time! Got to move all of my recently cast bullets to a different area. Now they are on the basement table where I set up my grow lights!

Good shooting. Sounds like a really good load that's going to hold up for you with 2 good groups back to back like that.

Varget is to 308 as air is to humans, at least for me it is.

Sounds like it's doing well for you too!

Don't know where I came up with the 32 gr. load of Varget Dan, but will back it
off to maybe 28-30 on your recommendation.

Am very interested in the 311299 to replace my C309-200-R, so I appreciate your range report. I noticed that NOE has a version (311-202-RN). Does anyone have any experience with it?

It just makes me grin to hear about people trudging through the snow, ice, and cold to shoot. :D I do the same, but might draw the line around 0. Depends on the wind.

I use the 314299 because the throat is worn in my Ruger, many rounds with Unique, casts .302 nose, .314 base, sized to .311
my load of Varget is about 1800FPS Chron., and 12-20 SD, barrel is 1-10 twist, according to the LEE manual the capacity of the 30-40 is equal to the 308Win ctg., I am using Grey24 lube, and BLL over the top....

my friend has the NOE 311-202-rn, shoots well in his M39 Finn, casts easy and as round as you a person can cast
I believe his mold is Aluminum, 4/C
I have never shot any of his bullets, so I can not comment on them in my rifle
