4 1/2" Steel at 1000 yards

Having only a fixed 10x scope on my rifle makes seeing a 4 1/2" steel plate difficult, much less hitting it!:p
I really enjoy shooting reactive targets and this one will work well for handguns as well as rifles. Mild steel construction except for the plate which is AR-500
I'm glad I decided to make the 1"x1" arm out of solid 1018 steel instead of thin wall tubing. We hit that as much as we did the target.:embarrassed:

Watched that video last evening.
I was amazed at how little damage the bullets did to the frame and arm on the swinger.
Nice shooting guys. I also like your sloped shooting platform. Looks simple and efficient while getting you into a comfortable position.

My rifle is an out of the box Savage 12fv chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor
I put the barreled action in a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock. My brother is running the same setup.
We are both using SWFA fixed power scopes. Mine is a 10x and he has a 16x

I have had excellent results with Savage rifle, especially accuracy. That is flat amazing.
And no small talent in the reloading room and on the trigger, either. That is a no one-dimensional
accomplishment.

Awesome.

My brother has a .338 Lap Savage, the 'transformers' version, and it is a real shooter, too. But he
only has a range to 700 yds on normal days, and special days at a nearby US Army base can shoot
to 1000 yds. He showed me a couple of hits on an 6" target at 1000 yds. All this super long range
stuff is flat amazing. I was amazed at what my ordinary AR carbine did at 400 with an ACOG. Easy
"A zone" hits at 400 off of a bench with a run-of-my-shop AR carbine and RORG Brit milsurp ammo.
Kinda puny compared to 1000 yds, though. :embarrassed:

Stellar work!

I'd need to be using a 10-15" target that far...at least.

I meant 10-15 just to see, if we're having to hit it, maybe bigger.

I assume a pretty calm day, since you were being coached to hold on, or nearly on. Well, unless
you had the wind already dialed in.

The wind was not too bad early in the morning. It started to pick up as the temp went up. The wind is usually doing something different at the target from where we shoot. It can be a challenge at times to even stay on a 2 moa target.

Good shooting. I've only had one 5 shot group at a 1000 yards under 5 inches. What you're doing sure isn't easy.
