Have one I purchased several years ago for $70 plus 4473 and dross.
Just looked on gunbroker and same condition rifle selling for $400.
Am I missing something about value of this rifle?
Was considering making a sporter stock for it so it wouldn't look so awfull
now not so sure I should.
Any ideas?

Everything is expensive right now. I have an early version Type 99 Arisaka that I’ve thought about converting to 35 Whelen. It is in a Bishop stock, front and rear sights has been hacked on, and the bolt face have been opened up a bit. But, it has an intact Mum. It’s a war bring back. It has already been totally bubba’d. Yet I’m hesitant to mess with it even more. I shouldn’t be it’s mine to do with what I want.

Do what makes you happy. It’s your property. But if it will fund another project that will make you happier, then by all means leave it original and sell it.

Joshua, with a full chrysanthemum, I would scrounge parts to put it back to its original glory!

But I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to Milsurps

I had an Enfield No4 Mk1 that had a bubba stock but nothing else wrong. There is that guy in the UK that managed to get several crates of unissued stocks and sells them on fleabay. No real cartouches on them but it sure made that rifle look better!
