Another one bites the dust

Another bowling pin lost the battle today.
Took my wife to the range early trying to avoid the heat. The humidity beat us to the range.
We fired a bit of handgun but spent much time picking up 9 mm brass. Must have come home with 500 cases. Could have gotten more but we ran out of things to put them in! They are wet tumbling now.
Got her to try the Win 92 in 357. Load was an NOE 160 WFN in mag brass with a WSPM and 14.5 gr of I4227. Shot pretty well. She enjoyed the rifle and fired many more rounds with it. I got in trouble for asking if I was ever getting it back. I had visions of needing to but a 44 mag version for me since she had the 357. She said nice try but no.

Just got the now dry brass counted. More than I expected. We picked up 1000 9mm cases today. And sadly we left at least 2-300 there because we didn't have a way to get them home.
Someone sure went thru some factory ammo. Most are Win cases.

I suspect that you will soon place a few gallon plastic storage bags in a map pocket or someplace handy now. Good to help clean up the range.

I always had a few 1 gallon zip lock freezer bags tucked away in the truck somewhere. Plenty heavy duty enough for about 500 45 acp.

Sounds like a great day. Time with your wife doing something you both enjoy and lots of free brass. Win-Win.

So now you know why she didn't fuss too much when you bought the Winchester. :p

Always have small, heavy-duty plastic shopping bags folded up in the range bag, you never know when you might run across some litter that needs proper disposal. It didn't take long to get tired of cleaning sand and grit out of my range bag after picking up the "trash".

I've got a couple of semi transparent bags that navel oranges came in. They are a mesh reinforced plastic w/small vent holes. One bag will hold at least 1000 nine mil cases. Always have at least one with me when I go to the range.

I keep a couple of the baggies in the range bag too, but still end up with a bunch of this and that on the bottom.
one is for the lead I pick up here and there, I wrapped it with clear packing tape to reinforce the sides since it will only get filled like twice a year.
