bullet sizing dia

If I am going to HT a bullet (which I haven't done yet) I have read that the steps to HT are to.
A; size bullet to the dia. you want the bullet to be shot at
B; Heat treat the bullet
C; within a day of HT apply GC size check and lube the bullet as needed
My question is how much larger should the check and lube be sized to than the first sizeing? .0005 / .001

when I did some HT for 243.
I applied GC and sized to .245 before heat treat.
After heat treat, I lubed it with a lyman 45 with the same .245 die.
I didn't have any problems lubing with the same die, I didn't have any other size dies for that caliber.
But If I had a .246 die, I surely would follow Rick's advice

I use the same die...in my case the die is .3125 for my all 308's. Barely sizes the bullets. Just finished lubing 260 pieces of MiHa's 180 SIL after casting on Tuesday, initial sizing and applying GC on Wednesday. HT on Friday and lubing with CR, yesterday. YMMV
