Casting and shooting little bullets

Regardless Jim, that is impressive, particularly when considering the 10-11 shots that pretty much cut that group in half, and must be .5" or less.
If those had been 30 cals, there would have been just one big Hole.

I came close to a 5 shot bug hole group the other day.
first 4 went into .275", and the last
opened it up to .575" -------Durn it all!
Load was 11 gr. 2400/NOE 55 gr. SP pr.
in 223 Sav Axis, at 50 yds.

there always has to be one, other wise your not sure your still hitting the paper.
I took to shooting 7 shot groups cause once the first one got out there the chances were that the next 2 will go right back in again.
after that your just looking for the second errant hole.

Fiver, have found that to be pretty much on par with reality.!

Jim, Like your thinking. Would justify a fair number of my 5 shot groups.

That happens to me, too. Usually I can eek out eight and sometimes nine with only one flyer, but there have been lots of times I put four in virtually the same hole and quit while I was ahead. One time after reading Beagle's article about why grown men cry, I was going out for a long session testing lube. One of the lubes was doing well and I got to shooting four and then the fifth at a fresh pasty to see where it would have hit....only about half of them would have been out of the group.

Yes Truly: "Why Grown Men Cry"

Yes At 50 yds I have got Beagle's proverbial one hole group with .223 about 4 times....but don't ask me to shoot that at the 100 yd range....That is an eyeopener!!!!

If we could consistently put 5 in the same hole, we would probable tire of doing so--------Naw!!!!!!

Try to put ten in a round cluster at 200 yards. That never gets old. Frustrating, but not old.

Shooting golf balls with a cast bullet is fun I agree.
However, for full impact regarding an exploding
golf ball, I suggest a 22-250 w/40 grainers doing
about 3800.

the 300 bo with 110gr nosler varmageddon bullets at about 2400 either explodes them or launches them so far away it just looks like it.
I'm not sure which it is.

What twist do you have on your 300Bo? I'm not interested in subsonic loads, but if I could do faster loads my interest in a 300 Bo mite change.

7 twist.
that 110 gr bullet is doing about 2400 fps from my 16" barrels.
I also use the hornady 110 and the sierra 110 gr hollow-point.

you can run cast up and down the gamut too.
I run the above, the rcbs 30-165 silh. at about 1500, and the lee 230 at slow.
I also use the 311358 with the same powder charge as the rcbs so it's gotta be faster by virtue of it weighing 40grs lighter.
and finally the ACE 140 I had Josh cut a few years back it comes in at about 140grs.

if I wanted to Deer hunt with it the 125-130gr sierra/speer type bullets would get the nod from me.
they poke along at about 2200 fps and would just about mimic the X39 round perfectly.
I could have easily takes 2 of the 3 deer we got last year, and it also would have pulled off the 75 yd shot the nephew took on his Doe with the wifes 0-6 without any drama.
