I figure to plug the orifice and remove rhe spout, etc. Make it into a pure ladle pot.

I find myself needing to use a mill frequently. I don't have one. Being local to you I'm voting mill, bits, & enough free time to play.

No, I told her "All I want for Christmas is ewe".

Not saying twins are a bad idea......

Of all the the Asian (excluding Japanese) lathes and mills, WEBB is likely the best, with Precision Matthews coming in second, but much less expensive. Tell your Mrs. that if she'll give her blessing to the mill, smokeywolf will throw in a nice 1/2" keyless drill chuck.

See, Brad that's a heck of a deal. Hard to pass that up. Look how much you'd be saving.

Rick,

While I have not contacted Magma Engineering to ask, I have wondered if they would make their 40 lb. pot without the pour spout.

Looks like a Brdgeport clone to me. I use a friend's Bridgeport with
DRO when I need bigger than my little Benchmaster will do, and it is
NICE. He bought it NOS and since it is in light service, is still just like new.

GET THE DRO. Really, really, really, really, useful on a mill. IME (pretty limited)
much more than on the lathe.

Wouldn't want to have a mill OR a lathe w/o a DRO anymore. But you can do a lot of good work on either one if you know what you are doing. Both make fine Christmas gifts...

Hate to say it Gary, and when I read that story it brought tears to my eyes, too., but...

That guy is being investigated as a fake. Apparently this event never happened. I am sure
that things like it DO happen, but it appears that this guy is a real jerk.
