Had to run to Big Timber today for a load of game hides. Sometime between the time I drove through Bozeman and the time I got back, it got a bit of snow. 25 degrees out, so it stuck and froze and got slick. Was driving a 1 ton dodge dually with a gooseneck. Coming down hill at about 30 MPH, some idiot passed me, and as soon as he got in front of me starting sliding. I hit the brakes, and that started my truck sliding, and next thing I knew I was jack knitting. Reached down, and slammed the truck in 4wd, dropped the tranny 2 gears and hit the Jake brakes and got the truck straight, and barely cleared the now crashed half ton chevy with the trailer.

In about a 15 mile stretch of road, I saw 11 wrecks, 2 were roll overs. Really hate driving on the interstate in the snow. The snow doesn't bother me, but the idiots with 4 wheeler drive sure so.

Sounds like coming home from Arkansas 3 yr ago .
I can cut the Okies a little slack how often do they see icey roads ?

Just rolling along when that little warning light went off and I slowed down because the road just didn't look right . Sure enough at the next culvert/over pass I got drive wheel crab . No big deal off the power everything hooked back up and off we went . This wrecker goes by at least 10 mph faster than me on his way to get a Crew cab dually out of the trees about 80 ft up the bank through the freeway fence . The this soccer mom in a crossover goes by like a rocket sled . I'm all " see ya at the crash site " . As if by cue card a mile later there she is down in the median with 4 of those I beam posts bent over and 2 of them pulled out of the ground over the cable . She's trying to back off the post under the front bumper .......
Ice on I 40 in Oklahoma City equals 40 miles of vehicles in various states of out in the weeds with wrinckled sheet metal enough to keep the body shops on 6/12s for at least the first quarter.

Having grown up in alaska, ice is nothing new. The worst I ever saw though was once when Texas got a bit off ice. Work got called ofd, so I decided to go to town. Never seen so many wrecks. I couldn't understand why they would cancel work over a little bit of ice.

Can't plan for dummies.

It amazes me every day a retard in a- fill in the blank(usually Honda, BMW, yota, lexus, ect) cuts me off while slamming on their brakes. I'm in a 7 ton Truck & I don't want to smash them but, sometimes they don't leave much choice. The best part is they think your the dummy until they realize you can't stop for them. Big rig drivers have my respect for not mowing down more of these types through no fault of their own.

Don't cut off big trucks while stopping. That seems like common sense but...
