Deer Bullets

I have to plug Randy's powder.
I tried it and it is the easiest powder yet!
I have 4 colors from smoke and they work well almost to well I end up with thick coats like 4 thou thick.
Randy's powder is super consistant and has amazing flow property's.
It covers very well even when applied very sparingly.
I even quit using the bb's.

I bought eight pounds of it!
I think I am set for life :):)
I guess I am gonna have to spread the wealth and check out Randy's powders. I am already a satisfied customer of his for his beeswax.

his dark grey works very well.
it looks like there isn't quite enough but as long as it's covering the lead it flows out into a very nice uniform smooth coat.
I mix it with harbor freight red about 3 to 1 to get a metallic purplish color.
I am actually considering using it in a couple of rifle applications.

Gonna have to check it out now for sure. I kinda committed myself in a public forum. Lol. Randy has always treated me right. I ordered 10 lbs. Of his beeswax a few months back and wanted to send him the money order ahead of time. At the time I placed the order he was out of stock and would not take the $$$ until he had it ready to ship. Quality wax to boot.

I know right!
This powder coating thing is a wonderful tool in the reloader/caster tool box!
For the most part it's all I use in pistol ammo.

Yeah.

Couple years ago I sorted through four contractor trash bags full of STS hulls that my late FIL had stashed in a storage unit. I just dumped them out on the driveway and spent an entire afternoon culling through the ones from the 4H shoot (or whatever it was) where it sprinkled that day, little rust speckles on the "brass", along with any that looked like they might have been reloaded. So now I'm storing about 20 brake cleaner boxes full of 1F STS and Nitro hulls in MY storage building, and all I own is a Lee whackamole 12-gauge loader. But, gotta save this stuff for the "war"....

those STS [green] hulls are the top of the heap.
still compression formed [only ones made now] and an actual brass head instead of brass plated.
you can get about 8-10 quality loads out of them.

That's why I saved them. They were free for the taking and if I ever decide to start loading 12-gauge the acquisition cost of hulls won't be a factor. I thought it odd that a 4H club doesn't reload much at all, or save hulls, but most of the kids's parents are A&M grads who have done well in life so they buy premium ammo and leave the hulls on the ground.

I am amazed at the economy of many people.
they buy a 5-10-15 thousand dollar shotgun, then buy the cheapest shells they can find to shoot in them.
[they save about a dollar and a quarter a box]
then they won't spend the 30$ a year it takes to join the club, so they pay an extra 50 cents-1$ a round as a non-member.
they could have bought a case of the premium shells during the factory rebate period and got 2$ a box off, which puts the premium shells down to less than the cheap shells.
a premium shell gives you some advantages, such as a better wad, better priming, and a higher antimony shot for better patterns.
their scores would improve.
the steel heads on many of the cheap hulls can leave a pressure ring in the chamber on many brands of the high end shot guns.
personally I stay far away from the Winchester promo brand hulls like universals, USA's, etc.
