it's a thing... [you either get it or you don't]
most of the time it don't get you anything you can't get from regular cast bullets, but it does have certain advantages if you combine casting with swaging and are looking for worked over mo better cast bullets.
you can also put hollow points on stuff that ain't got one from the factory, if you don't mind re-shaping the nose a titch.
but if you got a 428 mold and want 430 bullets it's the only way to go.
