Grips, I've settled on my three J-frames.
At the one o'clock position. Model 60 SS with Tyler grip adaptor and my handmade micarta grips fashioned after the shrouded rubber grips Bianchi use to offer.
At the 6 o'clock position is Cindy's 642 with First Generation Crimson Trace Laser grips, in a boot grip style. She inherited them because the activation switch is off center and works better for a right handed individual, than a southpaw like me.
At the 11 o'clock position is my 642 with Second Generation Crimson Trace Laser Grips. They moved the activation button to the center of the grip and cushioned it. Now, be aware, CT offers different sizes of their J-Frame grips. Some models are huge. These are the smallest and most concealable. They are hard composite, except for rubber on front and back strap of the grip. They are also slimmer than Pac's...............making them more concealable.
At 9 o'clock is a 357 LCR with CT grips that are about the same size of the ones on my 642. LCR's are almost identical in size with J- Frames. Main difference is the type of grip frame Ruger uses.
The Model 60 was my first J-Frame purchase. I learned that a hammer has no business on a CC piece and all steel belly guns are too heavy to carry all day long. YMMV
I have Pachmayr Presentation Grips on my Python..........they have the gold medallion. I replaced the original wooden grips (still have) because the Pac's are slightly smaller and offer better recoil protection. However, I settled on the discontinued Uncle Mike's rubber grips for my Redhawk, after trying Pac's and Hogues.
