Hogue rifle stocks

Has anyone used one?
Tried to find info on how they are made but no avail.
Thinking of restocking a couple of Mauser sporters.
Wanted to use glass stocks but Mc Millian doesn't make any for the Mausers.
Any info direction appreciated.

I'm not sure if this is similar or not?
But I put a Hogue Rubber Overmolded stock on a Ruger 10/22. I had upgraded to a .920 barrel and needed to replace the stock. The Hogue was cheap enough and it fit nice enough and I thought I'd like the Rubber, but it sticks to my shirt/jacket, so I wish I never bought it. Some day, I'll buy a wood stock for it.

I enjoy their ruger revolver stocks immensely even though they're ugly. Have a mossy500 with the grip panel area of the stock & whole fore end by them. I like those because they're sticky/ grippy.

Both of those are plastic set in the rubberized stuff. The 500 forend didn't fit new. Had to dremel out the plastic stops an inch or two so it would slide on all the way.

Don't think I'd like a whole rifle stock done in sticky / grippy.

Molded around some aluminum parts that are suppose to fit the recoil lug. As stiff as a piece of wet noodle.

This mirrors exactly my experience and impression.

I'll add that the 10/22 stock was nigh impossible to clean...and it was constantly picking up filth.

I used a Houge stock for my Howa 1500 for some years. I kind of liked it. Weather conditions during hunting season here is sometimes cold, sometimes wet but often both :). The rubber surface worked well for me. It has a generous recoil pad. The grip for the trigger hand is large enough to accomodate larger hands. The LOP was a bit short for me, though.

It does have flex in the forend. Mine shot very well, though.

I liked the feel the look was pleasing and it shot well. But it did flex and allowed contact in barrel channel.

I have had two. One years ago and one on a Howa from the factory. First one was sold off. Second is in the stock pile in the rafters of my basement. It was replaced.

I call it a useable option but there are better choices.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I was looking for Mauser stocks a while back. There seem to be a multitude available on the auction sites.

I've had one on a 10/22 for a couple of decades without any issues. I actually like it. I don't normally carry my rifles by a sling but if I did it may then be a bit grabie.

I dislike my setup enough, that I shot it so little, that I never got any filth on it.

They're the main reason I never bought a Howa 1500. That stock is heavy, bulky, and kind of creepy feeling in the hands. Picked up one in Scheels today and had to put it down, just can't get used to it.

I bought one as a replacement on a Ruger .338 Mag, because the boat paddle stock that came on it would smack the livin' crapola outta my cheekbone!!
It solved that issue, but was so much heavier that it became too much to pack over the mountain terrain that we were hunting. I sold the rifle, and bought a .358 Norma Mag... (1917 Enfield - rebored with a thumbhole stock)
