I Have a New Rifle - Today

Just checked with FedX and my new rifle is "out for delivery". WOO HOO!!! I'll put up a pic or two when I get it unboxed.

GOT IT!! Shipping box was damaged a little and had been re-taped. It was obvious to the skilled box opener that someone HAD been inside the box the gun was shipped from the factory. The tabs on the box closure were torn almost off in one spot and the rest had been opened. At any rate it looks intact with a straight barrel (by sight) and all the included parts were there.
It's a .22 caliber PCP Air Rifle, Air Venturi Avenger. Now to scope it and try it out. Oh yeah, got to buy more .22 cal. pellets, wife "helped" me put my stash away.

Actually, I got it for self defense; against the Squirrels and other "targets of opportunity".

Got some air in the gun and gave her a trial run (sighting in the scope). At 25 yards, she's going to perform like a champ, and I haven't even found the food she likes the best. What surprised me the most is that the first 3 shots were touching each other, so POI was right on.

Ever watch any of the utoob videos from the "ratters" in the U.K.? They put on night vision gear and snipe the critters in dumps, barns, and warehouses.

Yes I have. There's a fella over on www.airgunguild.com that does that all the time but from his home. He baits a trap with peanut butter and has a ball.
