"OK, OK, I'm going as fast as I don't want to go!"
Now that I have a house in escrow in Blanchard, Oklahoma, I went ahead and joined the OK shooters website.

I knew I should not have done it, but I replied to a thread about the whole Israel and Palestinian stolen land thing. I put down my biblical perspective that the Israelites came from the land of Canaan, went to Egypt during the seven years of famine, became slaves for 400 years, and all we did after WWII, was give them back the land that belonged to them.

A couple guys totally jumped down my throat because of my opinion. I guess I'll keep my opinions to myself about stuff like that.

But, everybody on this site just seems so kind and friendly, even if they have a differing opinion.

So thanks to everybody here for being nice people and making this site some place that I visit multiple times a day!

It's like discussing politics, Mike. Only thing that comes to mind is trench warfare. You beat the crap outta each other and gain nothing when it's all over.

I don't come here to argue. I don't mind a good debate with open minded folks. We all learn from listening to another's opinion or method. Plus, it's always fun to match wits with others. But trying to match wits with nitwits is just another form of self-abuse.

I have worked in the Middle East. I have had very calm conversations with displaced Palestinians and listened to their side of the story. We also had several displaced Palestinians working for us and I've listened to their stories. On the other hand, a former girlfriend who I nearly married lived on a Kabutz for 6 months and from her I got to hear the Israeli side of the story, including the point that they are Israeli first and Jewish second. They made that point very clear to all the Jews who came to live on Kubutzes to "find their roots". So, over the years I have formed my own opinions of what is going on over there. But, I've learned to keep them to myself and only reflect on them when I'm in the voting booth.

In general, it's just another war. The politics and the media control the message in every country depending on which country you are talking about. The problem with the age of information is it is so easy to share info on a broad basis today that there is just as much BS as there is truth, not to mention all the slanted and colored truths in the middle.

It's long been said that you should never discuss religion or politics at the dinner table. I've always believed that was excellent advice.

"never discuss religion or politics at the dinner table." Makes for a very quiet dinner. Suppose that's good for the digestion. Some states are well known for being 'red-necked'. The Socialist Party was the majority in Ok before the dust bowl occurred. Then they moved to Ca., basically either did well or became 'slaves'.
