I picked up a scope.

Monstrum sent out a new Banshee MPVO 2-10. This one is a FFP and illuminated.

Really nice clear glass, new reticule in this one. (I have two others but SFP & std reticule.)
As with all FFP optics that reticule is tiny on lowest power. Illumination @ low power improves that. At that point its like a red dot.
The center aim point is a circle dot. 1/2 moa dot and 5 moa ring I believe. At low power its a dot and @ 10x its about 1/16".

I also received a inexpensive 3-9x40 from DiscoveryOPT.

SUPER IMPRESSED!!

This one is a conventional hunting scope. 1" but does have a slight different reticule. Maybe slight "thin" but I like it. Its super clear! More than any older Leupold I have!!

I ran across a deal I couldn't walk away from. :p
Some time back I bought a Hawke 3-12x56 WA-30 scope with a LH-4 lighted reticule. I have it on a very slim barrel and this allows MED rings keeping scope low to centerline for good ergos. That 56 objective is huge!! I do very much like Hawkin optics.

A number of outfits offer this exact package, in a scope. (3-12x56 with same reticule) It is very popular in other parts of the world. I picked up a couple close in power range and agree I really like it. But none have had this reticule.
Last week I spoke with a guy who was selling a few Nikko Sterling Diamond 3-12x42 with this same LH-4 lighted reticule. I looked them up and read reviews and they seem well Liked. So of coarse I grabbed one. :9:
Im meeting him tomorrow afternoon to pick it up.
Last year I bought another Nikko Diamond 4-16 and I really like its glass but not its reticule. For hunting I mean. It's nice on paper. Just lacks boldness for quick acquisition in the woods. This LH-4 is a modified Duplex it doesn't have the upper strada line (above horizontal) its a etched glass reticule with a tiny lighted dot bold horizontal and post tapering to thin. The dots illumination is not daylight brite. So just for nite use. Im not yet decided where this will go.

Shot this yesterday. Man I really like these Banchee 2-10 MPVO scopes!!
If I was nit picking... I like the halo of this reticule to be smaller. @ 100 its feet bigger than a 12" sq site in target. But its dot is about 1.5 moa. I like 3" pasters & when centered complete ring can be seen.
But clear easily adjustments precisely had the common 1-1.25" groups peppering my pasters.

Got home deprimed, washed & dried all brass.

Last month I picked up a used Burris 7x fixed AO pistol scope. I mounted it in my Chipmunk 22LR Pistol and its a wonderful optic. I have a 1x and a 2x for decades and love them too.

Last night surfin another site, I ran across another one. This guy was not as proud of his as last guy. ;) So I grabbed that too!

I got three scopes coming in!!
First is a Used Simmons off eBay 7x pistol.
Second is a New Nikko Stirling 2-5-10 for my 30/06 Sts I was gifted.
Last is a impulse buy. My friends @ Monstrum dangled a 1/2 cost deal on a Brand new Flagship Optic. 5-25x56. So lil bit of Musical scopes gonna happen soon!!

Merry Christmas

I just picked up an older fixed power Leupold m8 locally in the land of Leupold, Benchmade, Danner, Kershaw, and Leatherman... has the curved Leupold name, and also has the center post reticle... German style... which I thought was kinda neat for quick shots.

How are those burris pistol scopes holding up?

USPS in all its inefficiency... has had my optic at my PO TWICE!!! Sent away twice and now its back at the hub! I spoke with the Post Master again about it. She said it will be back here tomorrow and should be available to my Thursday st latest.

I know its Christmas and the system is pushed hard with double normal parcels... but COME ON PEOPLE!!

Picked this one up yesterday.

Pistol. Older Japan made Tasco

Those were actually pretty decent scopes. Some of the Japanese-made World-Class scopes were really nice.

These days, I'd sooner take my chances on a used scope to avoid the Christmas tree reticles, gargantuan occular bells and sharp-edged, high-rise turret caps. It's difficult to find a scope that doesn't look like it's been tricked out to please the tactical crowd.

I like my Nikko sterling on my 17hmr... good zoom, and with the side focus helps out. Agreed... no Xmas tree reticle to confuse the hell out of me. Keep it simple, and concentrate on the shot

That little Burris is SWEET!

Sleek, trim, streamlined....

I know you have, and obviously have use for, those horrid new things with the cell-tower turret caps and gargantuan occular bells, but for me, the smaller and fewer protuberances, the better. I get hung up on or trip over enough stuff as it is without a bunch of stuff reaching out in all directions trying to grab stuff. Like having 18-month-old twin octopi in a shopping cart and the aisles aren't wide enough.
