END OF WINTER SALE!
Old Western Scrounger ("OWS") has been in business for over 35 years and is owned by the same company that owns great brands like Navy Arms and Gibbs Rifle. OWS has great deals on military surplus guns, specialty ammo and accessory items. Our complete site is at www.ows-ammo.com

Here are just a few of the deals you can find on our site, chances are, you are snowed in or about to be, so take some time, tool around the site and get yourself some great bargains on cool stuff!

$99.95 MAUSERS!
WEST VIRGINIA SPECIALS!

OWS has gotten in a small batch of original 1916 small ring Mausers in 7x57 (7mm Mauser) that are complete, in good working order with little/no finish, some with rust and with cracked stocks. Some cracks were small, some were firewood, so here's what we did:

wvs.JPG

All the Mausers we got were in good working order metal-wise, some flat sight, some roller-coaster as shown. The one's with trashed stocks we took apart and put in the small supply of small ring Mauser sporter stocks we got with them. The stocks are dinged, scratched, and cracked at either the tang or the heel, the photo is shows what they look like. Yeah, they are banged up, but are shootable as-is or would make for a good restoration project. We left the metal work as it was, with the rust and dirt, and put em' in the stocks. They aren't pretty, but they work and they are cheap! (fyi this gun 01 FFL is needed, not c&r)
ONLY $99.95!

1916 MAUSERS - CRACKED STOCK

1916mauserracks.JPG

All original parts, gun functions perfectly and has front and rear sights, sights may have small issues, but the guns are in perfect working condition. Has rust, wear and little to no original finish, but very much functioning. (i.e., they are tired, but not hopelessly pitted rust buckets that can't be saved with some TLC).

Stocks have cracks ranging from small to significant, but are solid. 03 C&R licenses OK for this item.

$109.95 each, 3+ $99.95 EACH!

The guns shown are representative of what we have, we have tried to describe them on the low side of average, our goal it to have you be pleasantly surprised with what you get. That being said, they are old, they have some rust and dirt so, to be clear: There are no exchanges, no returns, no refunds.

it wasn't too long ago you could buy a 55 gallon drum of them for 99$.
the shops would stick the drum out on the sales floor and let people pick one out for like 20$

I would be happy with one of those drums

I forgot about that, were any marked LOEWE on the receiver? Or were they all Obvideo mausers?

Are the Spanish (Oveido) or German (DWM/Loewe)? If any have a decent bore and German,
I'd put in the money for a nearby good soul to get one to sell to me, ship to FFL, of course. I pay shipping,
of course.

They say on the site no special requests but several people asked for crests and they obliged them. I have been debating 3 more and requesting crests.

Most of the 1916 rifles are going to be scrubbed, basically they took 1893 and 1895 actions and "modernized" them. They were shortened up and given different sights. I would say 70% are going to be DWM or LOEWE actions but when they went through the Spanish arsenals they were scrubbed, mainly (in my opinion) because around 1916 to 1935 Germany was not a country you really wanted to be associated with.
