In search of a 32acp bullet

Hello guys,

I have been gifted a small Quantity to get me going some Months back.
Its a 75 ish grain rn plain base. It works well and feeds fine. (As expected) Id prefer a FP but not required more important is function.

The Lyman 311252 is probably what I have but not necessarrily what I must have. ;)

Before ordering I was wondering if anyone had something they was willing to part with.
Primary use is the ACP & S&W short.

Both of these Accurate bullets look good.

075 might be preferred for its bevel base. ;)

@CWLONGSHOT , I'm not "into" 32 Autos, so I don't know much about them, but I've had such good results using a number of Michael Reamy's designs, that I'd look for one of his first - or a copy at least.

Ed Harris is probably the guy you'd wish t respond to this query.

Yeah, little bitty bullets sometimes need a little help with "ventilation".

Some time back, I looked closely at both of those flatnose mould designs by Accurate. The #311252 has a full-caliber front drive band, and it cuts cleanly in target paper like a wadcutter bullet. It anchors little critters decisively with good hits. If 32 S&W is on the menu, you might need more diameter than a nominal .311"-.312" bullet can offer. My #311252 JUST makes .313", which is a mite narrow for all but one of my 32 caliber wheelguns.

I am seeing that.... I sized last night. Yup they sure run small!! Next batch gets east wood powder that applies thicker.
I sized to .314. Allows me to resize smaller if needed.

Outpost 75 has been kinda quiet of a few other forums I've seen him on pretty regularly too.
I mighta made him mad a couple of months back?

anyway you could get a flat pin for that mold, it wouldn't be much of a flat point, but it'd be better than no flat point.

I have been thinkingbit should be real easy to make a adhustable pin for these style hp molds. And as such simply "swapping ends" could be made to also make "solids" as well.
PSSST BRAD!! You listening?

Adjustable isn’t too hard but you need to have a full diameter pin at the nose of the bullet. You can take that pin and go deeper but not shallower or you get flashing on the nose.

Making a second pin would be almost as easy.

That is true as well IF the screw on the bottom of the mould is of the same dimension from mould bottom to underside of the screw. Otherwise one mould may see some slop in the pin as it relate to depth of the cavity.

Never got your email, but looking at the size of the core pin on your #311252HP I would consider refitting one with a larger cavity, as one that small I don't think is going to upset at .32 ACP velocities. My Accurate 31-087T has 1/8" diameter core pin with 30 degree taper to produce conical cavity 1/4" deep, expands nicely in water at about 900 fps with 3 grains of AutoComp. Weights 82 grains in 1 to 30 tin-lead from Roto Metals. Erik Ohlen at www.hollowpointmold.com did the mod.
