I just happened to do that very thing this afternoon. I cast a few 30 xcb bullets i promised to send someone to try out.
Lol, i wasn't even thinking about the fact that would be my last casting session for 2016 untill i saw this thread.
I had to get under the carport to do it as we had a slow steady rain all day here.
now that i think about it, it was as good a way as any to bring in the new year.
Almost as good as casting. I finished building my portapotty for my fishouse. Walleyes watchout I will be coming for ya! My night was spent in bed like always.
Ian you can come an put your LC on my roof after you shovel it.
Well, now i can say i cast on the last day of the year, and did it again on the first day of the new year.
Still raining here, so i cast some more xcb bullets this afternoon.
Now if i can get some good weather to go shooting or hunting in, i'll say the year is off to a good start.
we have another cold front coming down after this snow storm is over.
I'm in the process of getting all of my brass under better control, I have one more bunch of 308 to go then a batch of LC brass to process/prep before it goes back into an ammo can for storage.
I spent both New Year's Eve and New Year's Day completing the last steps to organizing my hobby and casting areas--assembling metal shelf units to visibly store in orderly fashion my hobby wares and truck/Jeep maintenance equipment that has been stacked and stored randomly for over a year. I haven't cast a single bullet in 18 months, and that will change VERY soon--as will the infrequent shooting trips to range sites and desert. One of those "resolution" things I made, now that weight has been shed and health has improved.
I spent the five days before Xmas in SD pheasant hunting. Came home for four days. The wife and I both worked through Xmas because our kids were all at their in-laws and we are having Xmas with them on the 17th of January. The wife went with me the second trip and just enjoyed being in the motel room sewing. Pretty windy the first trip but I limited anyway. Better weather the second trip and the birds were bunched up. Either they were there or there weren't any. Several flushes of over 25 birds. Even managed a couple doubles, one with my 20 ga. Dogs did well and my youngest (chocolate lab) is turning into a pro. He's getting real good on runners.
Can't seem to post a picture for some reason. Says the file is too large.
