I loaded 20 rounds of 35 Rem this morning with a Lee 200 gr HP and IMR 4198. They lubed with BLL and I will try them out when the rain lets up (Tuesday according to weather man).

Ben,
No, I did it. I learned on the rear cavity and applied my new found knowledge to the front cavity. It turned out pretty well for a "jack-leg" machinist;).

Nice job on the HP, Malcolm. If they shoot as well for you as my powder-coated, gas-checked solids do for me you'll be one happy camper.

Good luck with the 35 Remington. You are using the right powder. 4198 was the only powder I could get decent groups with. I don't have my notes around but I think it was around 24 to 25.5 grains I started to see groups shrink.
When it warms up I plan to do some more work with my 35 rem. Have to do some trigger work first though.

I was given some 35 cast bullets to try. Think they are from RCBS mold. I have had decent results with them with IMR-4064 and Varget - albeit at short distance. The test bullets are a tad undersized for the Marlin MG bbl. I am waiting on the RD 190 mold and .360 sizer to arrive. Will try the two above powders and RL-7 and H-335.

P.S. I have Both a 35 Rem and a .358 Win ....but I have always been partial to the looks of that ole 35 Rem case with a great bullet in it!
