Looking for large deer antler

Looking for a large deer antler (or small elk?) with the crown. I need one or two for a project/make a 80-90 grain black powder measure.

Tried the pet stores and they are slicing them lengthwise which will not work for my purpose.

Whatcha got? Thanx

Define "large," Steve.

I have a few from SC, which aren't "huge," but I can imagine one being able to make a 80 to 90 grain measure out of one easily. Even some of the "small" ones would work well.

You already mentioned a pet store, but we have a Scheel's locally. They have a pretty good cut elk antler selection of dog chew toys there in the pet section.

You don't need one nearly that large for 90 grains. A beam section from an 8-point whitetail is plenty.

I might have something that would work, will have to check. You want a crown section, but how long? Shooting a .58 you can probably get away with using a 1/2" hole, but 3/8" will meter more consistently. . . .

so... understand "my" large reference... I am in the South with nothing but tree/vine browse for deer (no Ag fields). The ONE set I have that might work - I would kinda like to keep - Big for here! And no Scheels/Checked local pet stores - the progressives are now slicing them length-wise - no joy.

I would guesstimate that a 50 cent piece crown beam 4-5" long would suffice (and so I can drill a small lanyard loop hole through it) - as long as it's fairly straight and uniform.

For additional ref. If you could drill it out and drop a 45-70 case into it with enough side-wall to be stable and strong, it is plenty large enough for my needs.

Wednesday, I was at the local ALDIs store. In the "finds" aisle, they just stocked some antler pet chews for 99¢ each, all were about 8" long. There was 5 boxes that each had about 10 pieces. I dug through them all. Most were cut in half lengthwise and could have been used for knife scales and maybe a couple were big enough for revolver grips. I was more interested on ones that weren't cut lengthwise, I did find 5 that would make adequate one piece knife handles and surely could make a 90 grain powder measures...also thought they might make some neat drawer pulls...large drawer pulls!
Do you have a ALDI store near you?

As you know, the "FINDS" aisle is continually rotating different products. Some repeat, some are there a short time and never to be seen again. Of the 4 or 5 years that I have been shopping there regularly, I've never seen antlers there before. I have quite a collection of antlers, and am always on the lookout for more, so I would have noticed.
