My Grandson, Trevor shooting the 1894 today.

Ben

8 rounds ,
We live in a day now that is dominated by optics.
However, I want Trevor to master metallic sights also.

More excellent shooting from Trevor.
A .38 Special rifle is a lot of fun, and is an all-day shooter.

A lot of people think that this rifle is a 357 Magnum.
But, it isn't ...................

A .38-only carbine was a splendid idea, looks like they got it right. Ten-year-old eyes, some good coaching, a good handloader, and a good mould sealed the deal!

I'll just turn this into " Brag on My Grandson Day".

I have given him my Howa , .308 Win., Sporter rifle that I built years ago.
Pillar bedded, free floated, laminted stock. It is a track driver.

At the range yesterday, he fired 11 times at 40 yards. Not bad...........

Yes he can. Good for him!

I've always liked the more natural (not colored) laminated stocks, that's a pretty rifle.

Ben, have 38/357 myself. I ran 38’s through it for a while. Made a mess. All it sees now is 357 brass.
May be over kill but the son and I squirrel hunted with it a fair bit. Use the little lee truncated cone, runs like greased lightening.
It has also been put into service on larger critters. A 180 WFN and a dose of lil gun took several deer over the years.

Imho these are about the perfect packing rifle. Missed one that had been rebarreled with an octagon 16 1/4” by about 10 minutes.
